Update from Rev. Pennings

[Not sure when exactly this update was written. - Ed.]

[Hispanic Christian Ministry] Supporters:

I’m half way through my current ministry trip having just spent five days in El Salvador. I had the privilege of participating in the wedding of two of our MINTS students who are showing much leadership potential in MINTS-El Salvador. I am very impressed with the ministry of José Ramírez in his role as country coordinator there. He is developing significant leadership there and has developed five Centres with over 60 students at this point. He made arrangements to gather them in one conference activity where I taught the course of Philippians. I am currently in Nicaragua attending to the opening of one new Centre, and teaching at several others as well as presenting MINTS to two groups of pastors.

MINTS in Central America Nicaragua Retreat

Rev. Pennings reports on the encouraging retreat MINTS-CA had last month involving spiritual leaders from across Central America. Be sure to check it out here!

Moving Forward in Church Planting

Rev. Shane Lems' lecture from the last Classis Michigan Missions Committee Fall Missions Rally, Home Missions: Moving Forward in Church Planting, is now available for download (MP3) on our Missions Rally MP3s section.

This is worthwhile and challenging listening, no matter who you are or what classis (or denomination) you're in. Consider burning it to CDs and given them out as gifts as well!

Contact Page Update

The Contact page now has an Email field so that we can actually answer your question personally if you asked one. As for the question that was asked, no, we haven't received updates from the Langendoens in Honduras. But if somebody has such an update for any URC mission work, or even contact information of individuals who do keep up with our missionaries, there is a Contact page and you can submit it to us!

The Classis Michigan Missions Committee will, of course, review submissions before they are posted.
